What are the Top Folsom Restaurants? Answer? It depends on what you’re looking for. We have quite a variety of restaurants here ranging from Asian cuisine to Vegan and everything in between…. Certainly a wide enough variety to satisfy your many cravings.
Regrettably, we have not eaten at some of these places. It seems once the Boss and I find a place we like, we tend to go there often and not venture to other places as much.
That will change!
I will update this list accordingly as we visit the other Folsom restaurants.
So, let’s narrow it down a bit, shall we?
Below are some of the more popular choices per type of cuisine, as well as some popular eats around town in general. I’ll also have my top restaurant choices at the end - our go-to Folsom restaurants when the Boss and I have our date night (or lunch… or breakfast).
So, let’s get to it!
If you’re looking for a certain type of cuisine in Folsom, below are some of your choices.
I will update and post any discounts that I find here, so keep coming back.
These are some of the popular bars in Folsom. The food they serve is underrated. They’re very good!
How do I know?
I don't drink, so I'm often the DD (designated driver). Therefore, when we go to these bars, all I can have are drinks and FOOD! That's how I know!
Enjoy Cocktails, coffee, beverages and music at the Folsom Hotel!
If you feel like dressing up a bit for a special occasion, take a look at these fine dining restaurants. The boss and I have been to all of these and we have nothing but good things to say about their food and service.
Who doesn’t like breakfast? There is something very satisfying about having a great breakfast on a Saturday or a Sunday morning.
Here are a few of the popular breakfast restaurants in Folsom. I’ve been to all of them, except for Karen’s Bakery. The boss has been there a few times and she tells me it’s great. But I’ve had their pastries many times… If it’s anything close to the pastries the sell, I’m in!
Sometimes you just have to have an old American, tried-and-true burgers and fries. How much more American can it be. It has to rival apple pie, right?
When you get that burgers and fries craving, tries these places.
Bottomless fries. 'Nuff said!
There are a few more categories that I’ll add here, but I’ll stop here for now. A few of the upcoming categories that I’ll add here are:
If you have any comments about these other categories or if you have other categories you'd like to see on here, let me know below.
In the meantime, let’s go over my personal favorites - for now anyway, until I visit the other places, then I may update this list.
These are the Folsom restaurants that the boss and I visit often. This is not a Top 13 - just a list of our favorites.
1. Skipolini's Pizza (More than just pizza) (4 yums)
We love, love, love their pappardelle Bolognese sauce and fettuccine with grilled chicken. I love the texture of angel hair pasta, so I always ask them to substitute it for the fettuccine. So far, we have not had anything bad there. It’s always been good.
I also love their spaghetti with meatballs, but I find that it’s much better when I substitute the Bolognese sauce for their regular sauce.
Did I say the boss and I love their Bolognese sauce? Great appetizers as well.
Specialty: Pizza and Italian dishes
Average price: Less than $20 for their entrees and the pizzas, depending on the number of toppings, range from $13 to $34.
Address & phone: 191 Blue Ravine Rd, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 355-8555
2. Sutter Street Steakhouse (5 yums)
If you have cravings for a great piece of steak, this is the place. Rated as the Best Steakhouse in Folsom by Tripadvisor, and receiving their Certificate of Excellence, their steak and mashers never disappoint. Their masher is always great tasting and with nice texture.
Their wine room in the middle of the restaurant is very cool as well.
Specialty: American, Steak and Lobster
Average price: Their appetizers start at $7 and up to $24. Their entrees range from $22 to $45.
Address & phone: 604 Sutter St, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 351-9100
3. Manderes (5 yums)
Food here is always good. I love the consistency. I did have an overcook shrimp one time and they took it care of it in a very timely manner and in never happened since.
My favorite is their Chicken Alfredo and their sweet corn chowder. YUMMMY! The boss loves their chocolate cake for dessert.
They also have a great appetizer menu.
Specialty: American, burgers and sandwiches and some Italian
Average price: Decent - menu prices are subject to change without notice.
Address & phone: 1004 E Bidwell St, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 936-9655
4. Visconti's Ristorante (4 yums)
The boss and I have been eating at Visconti's since they had their location on E Bidwell near the DMV. Of all the Folsom restaurants, Visconti's was the one we visited most often when we first started dating. I really love their veal or chicken parmesan. However, the spaghetti and meatballs is a very close 2nd.
They have an award winning cuisine and the boss and I wholeheartedly agree!
I also like their current location since they have more parking. Though the old location had that old, hole in the wall, secret hideaway. It had that "small, family run business that's been around forever" atmosphere.
Each time we go, my low-carb diet goes out the window. Those darn garlic bread that they serve you once you're seated is phenomenal.
Average price: Appetizers range from $8 to $18. Entrees range from $15 to $26.
Address & phone: 2700 E Bidwell St #700, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 983-9181
5. Mexquite (4 yums)
The boss loves their margarita and their chips and salsa. It’s a little hot for me, but then again, I’m a wimp when it comes to spicy foods.
We've never been in for lunch - just dinner, but I'm sure their lunch menu is just as good.
We love their menu. I love their burritos and soft tacos.
Average price: Appetizers range from $5 to $11. Entrees range from $8 to $18.
Address & phone: 25095 Blue Ravine Rd, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 984-8607
6. Icing on the Cupcake (4 yums)
Okay, this is not one of the Folsom restaurants, but the boss typically will have their cupcake for her dessert... So, what do we think about this store?
Oh, my goodness. Solid 4 YUMS!! And...
It never fails. The boss knows my schedule too well when I’m out showing homes to clients. It seems that when I’m about done, she calls me and asks for a favor. It goes something like this...
The boss: “When are you done?”
Me: “We have one last home to see, then we’ll be done. Why? What’s up?”
The boss: “Can you do me a favor on your way home?”
Me: “Hmm! Okay! Icing on the cupcake?”
The boss: “Wow! How did you know? Yes, please. That would be my dessert!”
What am I going to say, “NO?” Only if I want World War lll at home... Well maybe not to that extent, but the silent treatment will be deafening!
What’s that saying, “Happy Wife, Happy Life?” Yes, it’s true!
Take a look at their selections here.
Guess what I got the boss for desert for our Day-After 16th year anniversary!
Specialty: Cupcakes, Dessert
Average price: Around $3 - $3.50 each
Address & phone: 330 Palladio Pkwy Ste 2027, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 303-4333
7. Fats Asia Bistro (4 yums)
Dim Sum. Period! Need I say more? The rest of their menu is great as well. The food is always great. I do have one complaint. The restaurant is too dark during the lunch hour. More sunlight please!
I always judge a Chinese restaurant by their Chicken Chow Mein. Of all the Chinese Folsom restaurants, they had the best. The Honey Walnut Prawns is also one of our favorites. The carving station never disappoints.
We have so many favorites here. The menu is just fabulous.
Average price: Around $46 per person
Address & phone: 2585 Iron Point Rd, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 983-1133
8. The Original Mels Diner (4 yums)
This is just an awesome place for a very casual meal - burgers and fries, country fried steak, breakfast all day, meatloaf… a great place to go for good old fashion comfort food. Food always seems to come out fast.
I just love this place for a quick, relaxing meal... And... Breakfast ALL day!
Specialty: American, Diner, Variety
Average price: $6 to $18
Address & phone: 13399 Folsom Blvd, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 985-7337
9. Cheesesteak & Grill Stop (4 yums)
One complaint is they’re always busy, which is actually a very good sign. Their cheesesteak sandwiches are freakin' awesome. I’d love to compare them to an actual Philly Cheesesteak sandwich from Philadelphia. But since I’m a few thousand miles away from Philly with no immediate plans of going there soon, I’ll have to say, they’re one of the best I’ve had… Certainly in Folsom!
Specialty: Cheesesteak, Burgers
Average price: $6.50 to $10
Address & phone: 1870 Prairie City Rd #250, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 294-0028
10. Scott’s Seafood Grill & Bar (5 yums)
What can I say? I. Love. Seafood. I’m from the Philippines - ‘nuff said. Food and service have never disappointed. They’re consistently great.
One of these days, we’ll go back for their Mother’s Day brunch. They’re always busy and for good reason. Their chowder? YUMMY!
Average price: Starters are from $13 to $20. Entrees are from $27 to $60
Address & phone: 9611 Greenback Lane, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 989-6711
11. Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews (4 yums)
I have to admit. I know there are many burgers and fries places in Folsom, but this one is our most go-to Folsom restaurants. We love their selection of salads as well. We love their burgers and bottomless fries - love it!
One complaint - I liked their original location better (across from Walmart), but I understand why they moved. Business-wise, their current location is much better. The other location was easier to access.
Specialty: American Cuisine
Average price: $10 to $15
Address & phone: 360 Palladio Pkwy #410, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 983-1773
We love these places, but for one reason or another, we have never had a chance to go visit together. So, we haven’t had a chance to look at their full menu. But from what we’ve had - 4 yums for sure!
This was our relocation group business meeting-productive and yummy!
12. Q’Bole (4 yums)
Sauce. The sauce that they put on top of their burritos are so good, I want to… I better not go any further than that. Their tacos are crunchy and full of flavor and the service is always excellent. The boss has never been here, but I have, though only during lunch for business meetings. The food is always great. We’re going to have to put this on our list of date night destinations.
Specialty: Mexican Cuisine
Average price: $9 to $18
Address & phone: 718 Sutter St #201, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 357-5242
13. Karen’s Bakery (4 yums)
I’ve had their cakes and pastries many times and my rating is based on that. The boss however, have eaten here a few times and she loves it. We’re going to have to make a special trip and sample quite a few items on the menu. I’m looking forward to it.
Specialty: American, Cafe, Bakery
Average price: $8 to $18
Address & phone: 705 Gold Lake Dr, Folsom, CA 95630 PH (916) 985-2665
